The TOM Project
The Time of the Month Project. No Girl Should Miss School. Period.
The TOM Project tackles period poverty by providing menstrual hygiene products and education to girls in underserved communities on proper menstrual hygiene.
To achieve this, we distribute TOM Packs (reusable drawstring sport sacs) containing, a TOM Bag (cosmetic bag), wipes, pain medication, menstrual pads, and panties for use in case of ‘accidents’ outside the home. Every donation event is preceded by TOM educational sessions led by healthcare professionals, taking care to include boys in these educational sessions. These sessions address cultural taboos and misinformation through education and open discussions.

Distributed 3,000 pads and 1,000 period panties to girls at two high schools in Akim Oda, Ghana.
Provided TOM Packs containing essentials like wipes, pain medication, pads, and panties.
Conducted menstrual hygiene education and Q&A with healthcare professionals.
