Our Founder
Nana Efa Attafua is a Ghanaian health professional, social entrepreneur, and the visionary founder of the Santé Foundation. Trained as a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), she has built her career at the intersection of healthcare, education, and advocacy—working to improve health outcomes for women and girls, particularly in underserved communities.
Her passion for social impact was shaped by firsthand experiences with young girls who lacked access to menstrual products and accurate health information—barriers that often affect their confidence, education, and overall wellbeing. What began as outreach and education efforts evolved into a deeper commitment to building sustainable solutions that address these challenges at scale.
Through the Santé Foundation, Nana Efa leads a growing, impact-driven organization focused on advancing menstrual health, maternal wellness, and broader women’s health awareness through education, access, and community-based interventions.
Guided by a vision for long-term sustainability, she has also developed innovative income-generating arms such as Santé Spaces and Santé Loom—the latter a collection of educational storybooks designed to support and inspire young girls while contributing to the foundation’s mission.
At the heart of her work is a clear belief: that no girl or woman should be limited by a lack of access to health, knowledge, or opportunity. Her work continues to create pathways for dignity, confidence, and lasting change.
“I believe that an educated woman is an empowered woman. When women have access to accurate, reliable information, they are better equipped to make informed decisions about their health, their families, and their futures. My mission is to ensure that as many women as possible have the knowledge they need to advocate for themselves and lead healthier, more empowered lives.”
